Freebies: Counters

Bravenet
Where else to get your counters than at Bravenet? This webmaster resources site offers the best free counter service right now, in which you not only get to choose counters from a different number of styles, you get a fully detailed page of stats containing site referrals, browser ratios, operating systems that your visitors surf your site with, and more.

Site Meter
Another free site offering a counter and tracking service. You have a number of design choices, including the site meter logo or standalone numbers. You also get a detailed page of stats, which includes stuff like browser ratios. It's not a snazzy service, but like Extreme Tracking, it's good enough for any webmaster just wanting a basic, no-frills counter.

Nedstat
This service offers two versions of its counter-- Nedstat Basic and Pro. Although Nedstat Basic is free, it comes with tons of bells and whistles, including detailed stats featuring pie charts, graphs, and maps. For a free service, none too shabby.

The Counter
The Counter offers a free version of its cool looking, blue, state of the art counter. Only problem with the free version is that to get detailed stats, you must upgrade to a paying subscription. Nevertheless, the counter looks pretty nice, so if you don't mind just getting a weekly email giving you your weekly stats, then this is the site for you.

Fast Counter
A service of Microsoft's Bcentral, Fast Counter offers web site tracking and counters with a sleek design. Not only do you get to choose a variety of colors for your web counter, you also get a nicely designed page of basic stats to boot.

Hit Box
Popular free counter that offers detailed stats, like referrals, daily traffic, and browser ratios.

Go Stats
Free service offering counters with stats and the choice of 176 styles to choose from.

Extreme Tracking
Ever wonder why you've been seeing little logos of a blue planet on certain web pages? Well, wonder no longer-- they're counters from Extreme Tracking. With this service, not only do you get a nice, little button, but a page of stats tracking the amount of visitors to your site, average hits per day, and more.
